30+ years of development across various environments. My first language was 370 Assembler followed by Fortran and Cobol. Jumped into Pascal on HP machines in the late 1980s then later picked up C followed by C++.

I've worked in academic environments writing applications for a Major University as well as tutoring Masters and Ph.D. students. I later wrote flight control software for a major weapons system. That was my first experience with a complex real-time environment.

Over the years I've worked with large financial organizations either building and implementing new applications, fixing existing applications, or replacing old applications with more modern technologies.

I've worked on MVS-370(zOS), Windows since 3.1, HP-UX, AIX, ULTRIX, LINUX, and a few others.

Back in my early days, I was the young guy but today I'm the cranky old bastard giving advice to the young-ins :)
