Started programming on a C64 for fun, was determined for a long time not to start a job involving sitting behind a computer all day, but the jobs challenged me indirectly to find automated solutions, so rolled back into programming and been doing it ever since and glad of it :) During the day I live and work in the Netherlands under the name of Robert Verpalen. During the night I tend to sleep (surprisingly enough, still in the same country and with the same name, some creative dreams notwithstanding). Got some hobbies, including a contact sport that really is quite altruistic, and in the past I was active on a programming forum (vbcity, user hotdog), an experience that turned out to be both surprisingly gratifying and educational. Life catching up with me, those on-line activities watered down somewhat, but when at work every single search on a programming query brought me to stackoverflow, something started stirring that had nothing to do with something I ate. So... started a profile and here I am :D
