I'm a progammer by profession. Build my first 20A buck regulator (totally from scratch with a LM741, a 555 and 5x 2N3055's and a TIP21 or something with a coil I ripped out of a dead PSU) while still at school, I do not build much stuff though. So I'm NO electronics guru, microcontroller hacking is my thing.
