Why are the three component LEDs in an RGB LED so unbalanced?
I was recently spec-ing some RGB LEDs for a project, when I noticed that the millicandela ratings on the three colors are rarely close to the same number. (i.e. 710mcd Red, 1250mcd Green, 240mcd Blue).
Does this cancel out somehow, or does this mean…

Balancing Resistor Values for Series Capacitors
I just wanted to confirm my rough calculations are correct in selecting balancing resistors for 2 capacitors in series.
Here are the specs:
2x 10,000uF Capacitors with 500V rating in series.
I found this estimation equation online: R = 10 / C…

I need suggestions/feedback on my simple active balancer schematics for two 12V batteries in series
Since I currently use a 24V battery system for my house using 16 12V car batteries (2 parallel banks of 8 in series with each other) and use the lower 12V side for additional devices, (as well as due to the difference in age between batteries and…

Balancing NiMh batteries in series over a long term
I'd like to place two NiMh batteries in series to drive a string of single LEDs. I can charge them simply at C/20 or so and the output will be intermittant so the batteries will never reach half charge. However, this will be in a permanent fixture,…

Modify lithium battery pack balancer
This is the lithium battery pack balancers available to me:
As Robojax has extensively explained in this video, this module is capable of balancing batteries with 67mA current (4.2v/62ohm) that is way too slow for my application because my charging…

Locally hatched ground plane to increase differential impedance
I am designing a flexible PCB to carry two types of differential signals. One is about 1.2Gbps 100R differential impedance, while the other is only 3Mbps, with much more tolerance on the impedance.
It was very hard to achieve a differential…

Current balance capacitor
Most series capacitors needs balancing resistors to keep the same voltage across them, but in my case, I'm using with three capacitors of 45uF in parallel that are working very close to its maximum RMS current rating. I'd like to know, is it…

How to limit voltage charge of supercapacitor
For a DIY project, I plan to charge an 100F 2.7V Supercapacitor using a 3.7V Lithium-ion 18650 battery. However, I need it to charge only until 2.25V.
Is there a simple circuit that I can build to limit the voltage\charge?
I basically need the…

balance charging current for batteries connected in series
I've been using this simple Li-Ion charger for quite a while.
It consists of 4x 18650 Panasonic NCR Li-Ion "unprotected" batteries (3.1Ah), connected in series (2+2).
Charging was going well with cell voltage difference of approx. 0.05V.
After the…

Why does a Double-Balanced Mixer Reject the LO?
Look at the image of the so-called Double-Balanced Mixer (this is the active version). I understand why there is no leakage of the RF frequency in the output (because the LO square wave by which the RF gets multiplied at the output does not have a…

Balancing of 18650 battery with parallel cells
Does a 1S4P 18650 battery need balancing? I read a lot about balancing around the internet. To me it seems like this only applies to the cells connected in series. An all parallel setup would not need balancing. Is this correct?

Does impedance balancing in the far end make no sense?

My question is about: if the unbalanced line is very long which means the signal source and the isolation amplifier is apart from each other 100 meters for instance.
In that case, if…
